6/30 Day 28: Abilenem to Topeka, KS
Saturday, June 30th, 2007Â
We are still dealing with the same weather, gray sky’s threatening to rain. We had a 108 mile day. This is the third century of the week. We had to fight the wind till the second rest stop. This made the ride a lot longer then it should have been. We rode on quite back roads on route 4 for the day. The terrain was rolling but the hills where to big to just get up a good head of steam and roll up the next hill, and the road was on the windy side.
Â
Â
We rode thou several small towns with lots of boarded up stores.

Â
Their was someone razing elk next to there house,
Â
It started to drizzle going in to the second rest stop. I had dropped my rain jacket in the van at the first rest stop so I was getting wet but not too bad. When I hit the stop I grabbed my jacket but not any food. I got lunch in a small café in the town with the rest stop. I wanted grill cheese and soup but they did not have any soup. After the rests stop it started to rain heavy for a while. We also game by some one the was using bikes as park of sculptures.

At the hundred mark about the time where I had had it. I was looking at the following set of hills.
